Curriculum and Instruction Goals
Every staff member in the Capac Community Schools family cares deeply about the success of your child(ren). We work hard to ensure we are providing an environment where your child(ren) can achieve academic success through the implementation of research based textbooks and materials that will support every learner in reaching their full potential.
Content Standards
“Content standards are used to outline learning expectations for Michigan’s students, and are intended to guide local curriculum development and assessment of student progress.” In the state of Michigan all K-12 public schools utilize the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics. Michigan also has content standards for science, social studies, as well as electives and other supplementary courses such as world languages. These content standards guide teachers’ daily instruction, the mapping of course content, and expectations for student outcomes. Instructional Textbooks and Supplementary Resources
All resources and materials utilized by our Capac teachers are based on researched best practices and are aligned with the content standards listed above. The materials used by teachers are reviewed and analyzed on a five year cycle through a district-wide committee process. We are currently going through a robust textbook review process to ensure we have the most current and up-to-date resources available for our students and teachers. Our current review includes K-12 math, as well as secondary (7-12) ELA, science, and social studies. We look forward to sharing these new resources with you and your child(ren) when we return to school in the fall of 2022.
