Capac High School Seniors
If you plan on attending a college, university or trade school in the Fall,
it's time to start filling out the 2014-2015 Free Application for Federal Student Aid!
Follow These Steps to Apply
Get a Pin
Go to www.pin.ed.gov in order to get a PIN number for you and one parent.
This number is your electronic signature and will be used every time you fill out the FAFSA.
Start Your Application
Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to begin the application.
You will need your tax information and your parent's tax information.
If your parents are still working on their taxes, you can fill out the first 15 questions or use last year's information! Just make sure you update your information once taxes are completed.
Add ALL Your Schools
Still not sure where you're going in the Fall? That's ok! Just make sure you list all the schools you've been accepted to on your FAFSA.
Update Your Information
If you used last year's tax information to fill out the FAFSA: Once your parents are done with their taxes, use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to connect their tax return with your FAFSA.
Remember - the priority deadline is March 1st!
You can file your FAFSA through June 30th, 2014, but could miss out on potential aid if you file after March 1st.
Visit www.studentaid.ed.gov for more detailed information about the FAFSA and federal student aid programs.
