Volunteer/Chaperone Form

As part of our continuing Safe Schools Initiative, and for the safety and welfare of our students at Capac Elementary School, all chaperones and volunteers must submit to a background check.  This criminal history check will be completed throug the Michigan State Police Internet Criminal History Access Toll called ICHAT.

Snow day make-up day scheduled for monday, april 21, 2014 

 

In order to minimize the number of school days necessary to be added beyond June 12th, Capac Community Schools has scheduled Monday, April 21, 2014 as a regularly scheduled school day.

 

NOTE:  This is the Monday immediately following Easter which was originally part of the second portion of the split spring break.

 

 

Capac Community Schools Announces Rescheduled Days for 2013-2014 School Year

 

Capac Community Schools announces that it will be adding the following school days to the 2013-2014 school year calendar:

 

April 21, 2014 - full day *previously rescheduled*

June 12, 2014 - extended to full day

June 13, 2014 - full day

June 16, 2014 - full day

June 17, 2014 - full day

June 18, 2014 - full day

 

Crossroads Alternative High School, only, will add June 19, 2014 for a partial day from 8 a.m. until noon.

 

We will also be adding five minutes per day at the start of each school day beginning April 14, 2014 throug June 18, 2014.  the new start time for the elementary school is 7:58 a.m.  The middle school new start time will be 7:50 a.m.  The high school new start time will be 8:00 a.m.  Crossroads Alternative High School new start time will be 8:00 a.m.  Please note that all bus routes will begin running 5-7 minutes earlier effective April 14, 2014.  

 

It is important that we have students in attendance all rescheduled days in order to receive full state funding.

Box Tops and Labels for Education

We are conducting another contest.  This competition will be between an entire grade against another grade.

Begins:  Monday, April 14, 2014

End:  Friday, May 25, 2014

 

Rules:

1.  Include the name of your child's teacher and grade on the bag or envelope to insure the correct classroom gets credited.

2.  Box Tops will be worth 2 points each and Labels for Education will be worth their face value.

3.  Points by classroom will be posted every two weeks, usually on a Monday, near the office.

          Great Start Readiness Program

 

We are accemting applications for the 2014-2015 school year!

 

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is a state-funded preschool program available to the children residing within the Capac Area School District who will be 4 years of age on or before October 1, 2014 and are at risk of school failure by the state mandated risk factors.  During the school year, this licensed program offers a full-day session Monday-Thursday.

 

Program availability is determined by slots awarded to the district on a yearly basis.  Please contact the Elementary Office at 810-395-3636 if you would like an application sent to you or a printable version can be downloaded below.

There is a website for Great Start in our county. Visit www.greatstartstclair.org  to see everything it has to offer from a community calendar, training opportunities, community resources, and so much more.

 

Great Start is a resource for families with children in our county as well as the providers that serve our families. The new website is one more opportunity to streamline services and make life a little easier on the parents and children we serve every day. Parents can go to this website to sign up for the Great Start newsletter. The monthly newsletter will give families and providers an update on what is happening through Great Start, in the community as well as much needed information and resources.
