VISION AND HEARING SCREENINGS AVAILABLE:
Any child entering school for the first time this fall is required to have a vision and hearing screening. Free screenings will be available at the St. Clair County Health Department, located at 3415 28th Street, in Port Huron. Appointments are available on the following dates:
August 18, 2-6 p.m.
August 19-22, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.
August 25, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 3 - 6 p.m.
August 26-29, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4 p.m.

New School Start/End Times for 2014-2015
This year all buildings at Capac Community Schools will be attending for the same amount of instructional time per day (6.2 hours). Please note that because of this change, some start/end times have changed.

Box Tops and Labels for Education
Thank you...thank you...thank you to anyone and everyone who saved and turned in Box Tops and Labels for Education to the Elementary. Because of your generosity, you raised $4675.30. Keep cutting and saving labels throughout the summer. We will host more contests in the fall.
Great Start Readiness Program
We are accemting applications for the 2014-2015 school year!
The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is a state-funded preschool program available to the children residing within the Capac Area School District who will be 4 years of age on or before October 1, 2014 and are at risk of school failure by the state mandated risk factors. During the school year, this licensed program offers a full-day session Monday-Thursday.
Program availability is determined by slots awarded to the district on a yearly basis. Please contact the Elementary Office at 810-395-3636 if you would like an application sent to you or a printable version can be downloaded below.

Great Start - Early Childhood Website
There is a website for Great Start in our county. Visit www.greatstartstclair.org to see everything it has to offer from a community calendar, training opportunities, community resources, and so much more.
Great Start is a resource for families with children in our county as well as the providers that serve our families. The new website is one more opportunity to streamline services and make life a little easier on the parents and children we serve every day. Parents can go to this website to sign up for the Great Start newsletter. The monthly newsletter will give families and providers an update on what is happening through Great Start, in the community as well as much needed information and resources.
