Richard "Dick" Baker
Dick Baker has been involved in coaching and education for over 40 years. The first 30 he spent at Port Huron Northern High School. He is a member of the Port Huron Hall of Fame and also is a member of the Michigan High School Football and Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame.
In 1996 Dick came out of retirement to be the Assistant Principal at Capac High School, a position he held until 2001. He continued his position as Assistant Varsity Football Coach though the 2006 season.
Through the last ten years “Bake” has been a tremendous asset to Capac Community Schools. He has served as a mentor not only to the students of Capac but to the Teachers and Coaches as well. Any student or faculty member that has come in contact with Bake during his tenure here in Capac would agree that he is definitely worthy of being in the Capac Hall of Fame.
2001 Varsity Football Team
The 2001 Varsity Football Team, coached by Matt Topie, Dick Baker, Troy Schneider, Bill Nestle and Jason Klink was one of the most successful teams in Capac history. The team finished as Southern Thumb Association Champs (10-3), District Champs, and Regional Champs. The team tied the 1998 team with most wins in school history. We are pleased to induct the 2001 Varsity Football Team in to the Capac Hall of Fame.
